History of Toyota

Toyota, this giant Japanese car manufacturer has always been a leading brand in producing cars to millions of clients around the globe.

What helped this famous car manufacturer in positioning itself at top of selling cars is the ability to develop multiple types of cars of different sizes and models, which provided it eventually with a competitive edge over competitors on a global level.

The success story begins when Toyota’s founder Kiichiro Toyoda decided to travel to Europe and the USA to inspect the secret of Automobile production thus conducted research on gasoline-powered engines in 1930. Soon later the Japanese empire was striving to expand out of its isolated local islands and conquer other eastern Asian lands, so the Japanese government motivated the production of automobiles to support its raging war with China!

Later on, the company was restructured as a separate private entity in 1937 and it was officially given the name “Toyota”. After that, the company was forced to dedicate its production activity towards trucks to support the Japanese imperial army in his fierce war with America during World War II.

In the post-WWII era, the Japanese economy witnessed massive difficulties before rising up from ashes, so did Toyota company as it was facing serious financial problems and was near bankruptcy, yet it survived after getting a loan from a consortium of local banks.

Toyota started to experience massive success in the 60s, a few years before the Toyota Motor Sales was established as a separate entity, and started exporting its first car models to the USA.

Australia was the best exporting market for Toyota during the 60s, later on, Toyota succeeded in making a global presence.
